Developed as part of the experimental cross-media performance Shan Gao Shui Chang, brings together choreography, sound, and visual art into a single embodied system. Premiered at the Main Theatre of Adelaide College of the Arts and supported by the Adelaide Fringe Fund and the Government of South Australia, the work explores how bodily movement can act as a generative force across disciplines; producing sound, typography, and imagery through real-time interaction.

Approaching typography as a physical and performative act, Haocheng Zhang translates embodied movement into a set of glyphic forms rooted in what he describes as “embodied writing.” Generated through conductive materials and live performance, the typographic system records traces of motion rather than static symbols. These forms function simultaneously as bodily depictions and visual residues of movement, constructing an experimental typographic language shaped by choreography, sensation, and spatial interaction rather than conventional typographic structure.
