Exhibited by Bangkok Art and Culture Centre (BACC), Crossover II: The Nature of Relationships examines the dynamic triangle between Art – Artist – Environment through the lens of Thai modern art during a period of profound transition, from the end of World War II in 1945 to the 2000 Tom Yum Kung financial crisis. The exhibition reflects on a moment before Thailand fully entered contemporary cultural conditions, situating modern practice within social, political, and environmental shifts.

Manita Songserm’s poster series translates this historical research into a visual system centered on color as both archive and abstraction. Drawing from over seventy selected paintings, the design reframes the artists’ distinctive chromatic languages into modular, pixel-like compositions that fragment and reassemble painterly gestures. Each poster variation references a thematic sub-section while maintaining a consistent typographic framework. By foregrounding saturated palettes and structural fragmentation, the posters offer a condensed, contemporary interpretation of mid-century Thai modernism, inviting viewers to encounter color first as atmosphere and rhythm before engaging with the original works inside the exhibition.
